Waxing season is approaching!
Here are some simple tips to help you with waxing for the upcoming beach season:
- Allow hair to be at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch long.
- Make sure you do not apply lotion or body oils to the area being waxed.
- It is best to avoid waxing prior to menstration or during menstration, as your skin will be more sensitive.
- Do not have excessive sun exposure or tanning bed exposure at least a week prior to waxing.
- Many clients have found taking Tylenol and an antacid about 1/2 an hour earlier will help with the sensitivity of the skin.
- Avoid caffeine completely prior to waxing as the acidity in your system will make your skin more sensitive than normal.
- Make sure the facility you are having waxing treatments is clean and uses gloves for all waxing treatments.
Benefits of Waxing
- Waxing will pull hair out by the root causing regrowth to be much slower and finer than shaving.
- Bumps (called Pseudofolliculitis) are less likely to occur.
- Best of all you can leave the razor at home for at least 2-3 weeks on vacation!!
Now you are all set for bathing suit season!
