Sandal Season

It's time to get ready for sandal season! After searching for great ideas, we found this easy and inexpensive foot treatment in Spa magazine. Simply condition your feet by using a loffa pad with an exfoliating scrub for rough and flaky spots. Heat a bit of olive oil in the microwave for a few seconds and mix with salt or sugar to create an inexpensive scrub. We offer a foot relief treatment that would be a wonderful addition to any facial or body treatment.

Waxing season is approaching!

Here are some simple tips to help you with waxing for the upcoming beach season:

  1. Allow hair to be at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch long.
  2. Make sure you do not apply lotion or body oils to the area being waxed.
  3. It is best to avoid waxing prior to menstration or during menstration, as your skin will be more sensitive.
  4. Do not have excessive sun exposure or tanning bed exposure at least a week prior to waxing.
  5. Many clients have found taking Tylenol and an antacid about 1/2 an hour earlier will help with the sensitivity of the skin.
  6. Avoid caffeine completely prior to waxing as the acidity in your system will make your skin more sensitive than normal.
  7. Make sure the facility you are having waxing treatments is clean and uses gloves for all waxing treatments.

Benefits of Waxing

  1. Waxing will pull hair out by the root causing regrowth to be much slower and finer than shaving.
  2. Bumps (called Pseudofolliculitis) are less likely to occur.
  3. Best of all you can leave the razor at home for at least 2-3 weeks on vacation!!

Now you are all set for bathing suit season!
